next year’s reading: a GGK project

So I’ve noticed that RIVER OF STARS, which I haven’t yet gotten around to reading, is Guy Gavriel Kay’s 12th book. I’m thinking of doing a GGK retrospective next year and read a GGK book a month, in order of publication, so I thought I’d mention it in case anybody else wants to read along too.

Of course, realistically this means I’ll read the Fionavar Tapestry all at once and the, uh, whicherfligger Mosaic all at once too, so it’s more like 9 months of books rather than 12, but still, close enough.

I think it’ll be kind of interesting. I’ve read the Fionavar Tapestry at least three times, but not for years-unto-decades, and I’ve read TIGANA more often than I can count, but I’m not sure I’ve re-read any of the others. Some of them I loved hugely, some I liked all right, some (okay, one) the last chapter pissed me off so much I’ve never re-read it despite it possibly being my favorite up to the last pages, and one or two I actually didn’t like and wonder now if it was me or the book. So: a retrospective shall happen. Or whatever one properly calls this kind of thing. :)
