Visit: Mom, Dad, and my nephew Michael were here last week. It was SO good to see them! They split up their drive in Duluth MN, which is between 6 and 7 hours drive from here. It works out that it’s about half-way, so I have revised my opinion that my folk’s new home was too far a drive for me. I bet I will be able to manage that length of a drive fairly soon.
My parents seem to be doing well. They like their new house and are enjoying Pinawa. Paul took Dad and the boys to the new Superman movie, and they went go-carting (which was apparently a blast). The boys biked, played computer games, went to a water park (which they really liked) and the local pool (which is apparently not-so-cool, with lots of peeling paint). Dad spent a lot of time working on the basement, sometimes with Paul, sometimes without. It’s *great* how much quieter the furnace is with the insulation and walls up. Thank you, Dad!
Ben and Michael have always gotten along really well. We plan to make sure elthey have time together as much as possible. My brother and I spent a lot of time with two of our cousins (Rick and Roxanne) while we were kids, and so it feels important to me to ensure Ben has the chance to have that type of close relationship, too. I'm so glad to have had Micahel here!
Work: More on that later. Sigh.
Opening weekend is this weekend. WW is this weeekend. The quietness is about to come to a screaming halt - while we will not be going to WW, we *will* be working the Fair, which is always chaotic (in a fun way). The tights shop isn't chaotic, but the Fair itself sure is. I'm a bit worried it will be a little overwhelming coming, as it does, on top of several weeks of mostly solitude. We'll see. :o) Our employer says I can go (upstairs, to her living area above the shop) and rest whenever I need to.
It's always been a good time. Wish me luck!
*hugs*
