As opposed to a Snow Day. *grin*
I dunno if I get paid for today or not, since I couldn't go to work through no fault of my own. I'll find out, and frankly, regardless, I was thrilled to have the day to myself. A day like this, when I have things to do and those things get removed from my schedule, I have always thought of a day like this as "stolen time" - time that's stolen from one thing (like work) and now I can do anything with it. Sleep. Read. Snuggle the cats. Whatever. It feels a little naughty and a lot luxurious.
I *love* it.
Hiya! A quick chance to post from work... weird. I'm temping at SEDA, which is a part of MCFI.
SEDA is a year-round school, which has classes from K3 to second grade. I'm the school secretary. It's actually pretty cool - the people are nice and the kids make things chaotic enough to be entertaining and certainly NOT boring. They have a unique web policy (in my experience, though I'm sure lots of places probably do this); the web sensor checks each page you try to access, then tells you the category it places the site in. You can click a button to be allowed to use your one-hour allotment of non-work web time. So I'm on LJ, from work, legit. How cool is that. :o)
There is a chance that I may be able to snag this position permanently. They're looking, though they haven't posted anything yet, and they like what I've done so far, so we'll see.
I'll be able to update here a little more often than I have of late, so ...
I'll keep you posted! :o)
