Aight, this wraps up my Udemy course, which, weirdly enough, I started one year ago today. Even if I hadn’t started doing this project, I’d still drawn more in the past year than I had in MANY MANY years, so all by itself that’s pretty satisfying, but this project means I’ve finished it, after buying it EIGHT YEARS AGO, and that I still have about thirty hours of practice in front of me.

I thought the bricks turned out pretty cool in that one, and I’m informed the skull is better than I think it is. :)

I’m telling you here and now, I skipped the “practice drawing realistic hair” part of this ^^^^^^ lesson set. If I’m moved, later, to begin drawing highly realistic people, I’ll revisit it, but it’s just not that important to me.
I really dislike the people in the upper left, although I think I did her hair well. I was trying so hard to follow the instructor’s rules that basically I did a bad job, and I’m not thrilled about that. I do, however, quite like my noses, and that’s the best back-of-an-ear I’ve ever drawn. :)

I’m actually pretty pleased with these, for a couple of crappy little sketches based on an image the instructor could see but I couldn’t, so in fact based entirely on what he was drawing. Not happy the dude’s feet fell off the page, but, well, oh well.

I quite like the more finished basic shapes person on the left. Her legs are a little short, but overall it’s pretty good. The other two were a different approach to shapes and I think it’s probably a pretty good one if you’re already quite good at the blockier stuff on the left, buuuuuut…
So yeah, here I am, wrapping up the Udemy course. I am supposed to do a bunch more facial features drawings, and a bunch of basic body shape stuff, but I’ll be doing at least some of that with the rest of the 100 hours project, so I’m calling it good with the Udemy stuff because it’s all “go out and find stuff to draw” stuff, and while I have many resources to do that from, I thought the drawing anatomy/human figure/body parts of the Udemy course was considerably skimped on, so I’m going to do more PRACTICE via the 100 Hours thing before I go forth and find stuff to draw on my own.
The Udemy course also has a last section on character creation for animation sorts of things (or cartooning in general) that I’ll revisit when I’ve finished the various anatomy and things stuff that I’ve got ahead of me and am going to start the character creation/development courses I’ve bought.
It might be a little hyperbolic to say the end is in sight, but…the end is kind of in sight, guys! I’m 70% done with this project! Probably more than, in terms of the lessons I actually have left! I did not expect to get this far! :D
