give me a shout out!

I’ve been meaning to do this since the beginning of the year (all that time ago) and have been putting it off ’cause no net access, but since I no longer have any idea when we’ll get access, I might as well do it now.

I’m seeing quite a few new names I don’t know on my friends list, so give me a shout out and introduce yourselves! Who are you all? :) (I have to do one of these on the /mizkit.com, too, but since I just posted a huge long comics rant I thought I’d spare the flist another post immediately. :))

  1. I’ve just ordered your Urban Shaman from Amazon, so me friending your blog was me seeing if I’d like your writing. :-)

I’m from Dublin and read SF and fantasy as a hobby. How’s that for an introduction? :-)

  2. Hi, my name is , and I’m just sheep. All the cool kids are friending you.

    Baaaa.

    :)

  3. I’m a siren luring men into their doom with my voice. I’m a little lost girl. I’m a bitch queen ordering others around all day long. I’m a junkie for fantasy novels and TV series.

All in all I’m Isa, mad and proud of it.

  4. Linda – read your book and enjoyed it! I like reading writer’s blogs ’cause they tend to talk about writing. :)

  5. I’m Kirby! I like Kit, and fortunately, I also like Kit’s writing.

I also think Rogue Stripes are sexy.

  6. Who are you and why are you asking me these questions? Who sent you? GET OFF MY LAWN!

  7. From the back flap of the book jacket:

Tahnan is a 6’6″ freelance human cannonball living in Nova Scotia. He was raised in Yorkshire by his father, an Orthodox Jew cocaine smuggler from Ethiopia; his mother, a Zoroastrian artist from Zagreb whose preferred medium was condiments on canvas and whose masterpiece Sunrise over Kilimanjaro in ketchup, mustard, and vegemite netted her scores of dollars; and his father’s mistress, a lawyer from Chicago. In his spare time, Tahnan shears sheep and practices his Tuva throat singing. This is his first novel.

  8. I’m Brian, and I still want to use that icon of yours for an Amber Trump but sadly also still haven’t a game to do so for yet.

  9. Marith is a wizened Tasmanian dwarf who reads your journal as part of her sacred calling. Each morning she climbs out of her hollow tree stump and shuffles, very slowly, up the mountain to waken the glowing idol. The wisdom it shares with her is too strong for the tribe. Coyote, she will say, cackling to herself, and grown men back away. ZilliChanti. Excuse me, I thought you said ‘prairie squid’.

They all fear her, but the fear is tinged with gratitude. For she is named Looks-at-Square, and through her are the 246582 tiny red-headed Irish kiitlingdamons propitiated. No more do they swarm throuth the village, eating everything in sight and gluing the shaman’s toes together. The goldfish swim back and forth in peace, and the lemon is unmolested.

  10. We’ll i suppose in another few weeks i can be considered for ‘Journeyman Stalker?’

  11. I’m the reincarnation of Mad King Ludwig and I play MacGuyver in my spare time and can build a time machine out of duct tape, an alarm clock, and some orange juice, I’m an eccentric billionaire pending funding and in my spare time I utilize multimillion dollar space tech to hunt for bits of Tupperware in the woods.

  12. Long time fan. Many time poster. ;)

Oooh… need to remind self to e-mail you about getting me a scarf if you are ever in Bunratty area. Mmm. Must write that down.

  13. You know, I hadn’t heard of that convention till you mentioned it. Maybe I don’t move in the right circles :-). I’m a student at Trinity at the moment (ancient history and French). Maybe I’ll get to it, with luck, but who knows? :-)

From the excerpt on your website, I’m really looking forward to reading Urban Shaman. Alas that Amazon has had my order a week and still not shipped it! (It’s not available from any UK publisher, is it? Otherwise I’d have tried to get it in Hodges Figgis)

  14. I’m a writer just starting out. I have a wonderful husband and a daughter who’s 3 1/2 and a son who’s 1 1/2.

I know you through and I think I RPed with you on AmberMUSH. dragged me over to play Bernard on Parys. She also tried to get to apply for a book character, but I never could get through the books. Instead I played a fairy with , and I think you were a fairy too.

Last year I started blogging regularly and I started adding LJ people. told me you were now a published author with several books. Woo hoo! It’s great to read about someone I sorta know who’s realised her dream!

  15. It’s not yet, more’s the pity. Harlequin’s got world rights to publish it and they haven’t moved into England/Ireland yet with the Luna titles. so for the moment it’s Amazon, I fear!

*laugh* I think I saw a poster for PCon at Forbidden Planet. Obviously you don’t move in the right circles. :) Anyway, it’d be cool to met up sometime. :)

  16. Interview. email me about it, as I’m not sure of the best way to go about it! cemurphyauthor at gmail dot com. :)

  17. That would explain why I haven’t seen anything about it… haven’t been in FP for a good long while. :-)

Anyway, it’d be cool to met up sometime

Well, you know, if you’re ever in the environs of Trinity college, drop us a line. (Or, y’know, if you ever want to get in to the Book of Kells on the cheap. Students and their guests get in free, thought I haven’t gone near it yet):-)

::restrains mad bouncing enthuasism at the thought of meeting a Real Live Author:: :-)

  18. Oh, I do miss you at times. o.O No pictures posted of the red hair, I’m afraid, though it’s faded to pinkish by now.

  19. Oh! Dude! That would so totally rock! First time I came to Dublin my friend and I managed to score a Trinity campus tour by way of tearing through the entrance like we were students late to class (this was not intentional, it just happened to work that way), but you needed to actually have your tour tickets to get in to see the Book of Kells. :)

We’re struggling mad trying to get the house in order and I’ve got a book to finish by, er, well, March 1, though I’m hoping to make it by the beginning of February. Maybe sometime like in mid-February we could meet up, see the BoK, and have lunch or something! Drop me a line at cemurphyauthor at gmail dot com!
