Y’know a couple weeks ago when I slept funny and woke up with my arm flung behind me? The joint’s been all achy and mucked up since then, but this morning it suddenly went CLICK and is fine again. It never ceases to amaze me both how much discomfort the body can become accustomed to and work with, and how very good it feels when the pain stops.
I have had “write Chance #6” on my thinks to do list for like half a year now. Possibly longer. I finally finished it yesterday, and am extremely pleased about this. It’ll be the first issue drawn by my new artist, so that’s exciting to contemplate. And while I finished a short story on Monday night, I didn’t get the one I started yesterday done. On the other hand, if I stop goofing around blogging, I’ll probably finish it by noon. Possibly by eleven, if I don’t think too hard about what I’m doing.
We’ve been re-watching DS9, and just finished the first season. Holy gods, those are the most boring credits known to man. They go on and on and on and *on*. It was interesting to discover that the only episode I remember with any clarity from S1 was the first one. I recognized all of the characters who were recurring, but I didn’t remember any of their introductions. The pacing is really very bad in some of the episodes, especially the first one. That’s not a problem I remember from watching the show when it was on originally, so I don’t know if it’s that they got better or if TV pacing in general has changed so dramatically in the last 15 years that it just feels too different. I expect I’ll find out as we go on.
*sigh* Ok. Things I need to do today:
– email my editor with start-from-scratch new title suggestions for the 4th Walker Papers
– email the PR guy with PR stuff
– finish this short story
– write, or at least start, a third maybe start a fourth? nah YEAH! :)
– post at Magical Words
If I manage to get 5 stories written this week, shall I go ahead and do a Fiction Week next week instead of waiting for the end of the month?
