A couple chapters turned out shorter this week, so I ended up with 7 instead of the anticipated 6 or the acceptable 5. And this morning I had the “Gee, I think there’s too much story to fit in the room I’ve got left for the book” moment, which is usually a good sign. I have inched past 200 pages, and am about a thousand words from 50K. Nearly halfway done. Nearly 19K written this week. It is time for a Weekend.
And for the weekend we’re going in to Dublin tomorrow to listen to John Reppion & Leah Moore‘s talk about adapting Dracula from a novel to a comic book. John & Leah are two of my favorite people, so I’m looking forward to that quite a lot. If we were terribly rich we’d be staying longer and going to other Dracula-themed events this weekend, but we’re not, so we won’t. :)
Ted, who is splendid, has put a wireless card on Nook, my regular writing computer. This marks the end of an era: I have deliberately, for years, not had my writing computer online. But this word war thing is working really well for me mentally, whereas the laptop isn’t working so well physically, so I’m hoping putting Nook online will net me the best of both worlds. If it proves a disaster, I’ll take it offline again.
All right. If I’ve got anything else to say, I can’t think of it. Oh, except I’ll open the weight loss/fitness chat room around 4pm Eastern on Sunday. Hopefully I’ll see people there.
