In a fit of something, I’ve rewritten one of the Gryphon Beach Tales and sent it off to Spider Magazine, which is a sister magazine to Cricket, one of my most beloved childhood magazine subscriptions. Spider’s for 6-9 year olds, which I think is a better age group for the Tales than the 9-14y/os that Cricket caters to. They’ve got a 12 week response time, so I won’t hear back til next YEAR, but hey, I submitted something. Cool!

Gooooooo Catie!
Yay! Submitting good!
Also look at Cicada (I think I spelled that correctly) if you’ve written anything for a teen-adult audience. Also related to Cricket.
And, yeah! Cricket was one of my two favorite magazines when I was growing up.
The other one being Highlights for Children?
Yeah, I know about Cicada, but I don’t know if I’ve got anything to submit to it. I have to think about it, and dig some older stuff up. :)
I read both Highlights and Cricket every month when I was growing up! Also some nature magazine for kids that I can’t remember the name of right now.
I reallyb hate it when Internet Explorer hicups and comments double-post. Sorry ’bout that.
noooooo prollem. The extraneous comment has been deleted. :)
Ranger Rick was my second magazine. I had a whole collection for a long time. With the subscription you got a binder to keep them in. It was pretty cool.
So which Gryphon Beach tale did you send off? I read Para-Chan And The Butterfly and A Day Of Darkness And Light to Tori this weekend. She said she liked them, and since she sat and let me read them to her even though they didn’t have any pictures, and she asked pertinent questions, I’d say that she really liked them. Both times she asked for another one, but since there are only four, I’m reading one per night.
I re-wrote and sent The Smallest Giant. :)
