actually…

I couldn’t think of a reason to not just switch to the LJ thing now. I have no idea if the mizkit_feed will pick up the lj posts or not. I have the vague idea it won’t, but if it does and people get spammed, um, sorry. I’ve set anonymous comments to be screened, for the moment, and will decide after I get a lil’ more feedback whether I’ll just turn ’em on or what.

I’ve even downloaded Semagic for my computer. Gosh, I’m so spiffy. And let me tell you, it is WEIRD looking at my homepage and getting LJ comments on it. Buh! That’ll probably take a few days to wear off… :)

Ok, so I’m easily amused. Your point is?

(eta: there is currently a link at the top of this page for the Moveable Type archives for the Essential Kit. This link will go away in several weeks, or whenever I remember to change it, but there is and always will be a link to the MT archives over there on the right, last link under ‘pages’. just FYI.)

  1. So much easier to work with livejournal too.
Of course it is easier to add you to the friends list as well in livejournal, so I can see the posts for the day without having to go to your website.

Does that make me lazy? :)

  2. I keep meaning to do the CSS work to connect my LJ journal with my website. The kind of thing that uses a hunk of java script to pluck the latest post off the feed…

But it’s been too much work to write. Or rather, the writing would be fairly straightforward. The *testing* is what I’m dreading. :-)

Congrats on simplifying your web space to limit your journals. :-)

  3. I don’t have the know-how to do that, so this was the easiest solution for me. Of course, it STILL took 4 months of dorking around with it to make it actually work, so I don’t know how *easy* that is…

Every time I see that icon of yours I giggle. Pwincess FWOWAH BEAH!

  4. Yeah, but I haven’t got the moral high ground to mock you for it anymore. :) I USED to DILIGENTLY visit EVERYBODY’s sites, even their LJs, individually. Then I hurt my back and was laid up for two weeks and it was easier to just use my friends page, and I never have gone back. The shame, the shame. :)

  5. Welcome to the club! :) The feed has been great to read – I’m just bummed I didn’t find it until like a month ago. *hides face in shame* Can I say I was writing and that was why? Yeah, yeah, that’s it – I was writing! :)

  6. Well, fortunately, if you require *lots* of procrastination material, there’s like five years of archives… :)

    Love your icon. Raar. :)

  7. Thanks! made it for me, because I’m a doofus and haven’t figured out how to make icons yet. :p Not really good ones, anyways. ;)

    Ah, archives! Must…resist…have…deadline….

  8. (*facepalm*)
That must be why the Princess Bride quiz that was going around a while back tried to make me the Bishop. I have an innate affinity for creatures in odd headgear who lisp!

    “Mawwiage….”

  9. The good news is.. the less time you spend manually going to everyone’s site the more time you have for writing….
or in my case… usually slacking.

Right now I could be either actually doing my day job… or writing. And instead I’m just writing in a journal… does that sound productive? :)
