348 page manuscript. Cut 32 pages wholesale. Have probably 50 or so to revise significantly by switching into the heroine’s POV, plus front-loading the story with essentially all-new material (some 30-50 pages of it all told, though not necessarily all in the front). Total expected major revision work, something like 70-100 pages. Minor revisions throughout to make the old stuff work with the new. And yet, delightfully, neither stressed nor panicked over all of this. Let’s hear it for not being behind the 8-ball. Got about 1.5 chapters actually revised,…

Dude!
Dude! The bidding on the auction items (Tuckerization here, gift basket here) shot up after yesterday’s post. There will be a give-away of A FANTASY MEDLEY advanced reader copy on…Tuesday, June 2, because I’ll be on vacation on the 1st. :) If the combined price of both items goes past, let’s see, what’s dramatic enough? The combined price is currently at $305. If it goes past $450 I’ll write a new Walker Papers or Old Races short story (the high bidders get to choose) for my insanely generous blog readers.…
many things make a post
I got my calendar today! And to my delight, the quality is very nice! I think it’s worth buying! :) I ordered a standard-size and kind of wish I’d gotten the one they refer to as “huge”, just to see what it looks like. I also thought of a theme/idea thing of sorts for a (series of) photography book(s). I’ll have to discuss it with my…
Take A Chance pre-order
There’s no cover image up yet, but the Take A Chance graphic novel is up at Amazon for pre-order. The GN will include the original 5 issue story arc, plus the Free Comic Book Day issue, and audition art from various artists I’ve talked with over the past few years. And possibly some other stuff, essay-like things and who knows what else. In fact: what would people like to see? Oh, and the Dabels have got issues 1-3 up at their online store. I’ll nudge them about #4, and hopefully…
holy CRAP
Ardian’s on Batman: BLACKEST NIGHT blankets Gotham City in this 3-issue miniseries from writer Peter J. Tomasi (GREEN LANTERN CORPS, THE MIGHTY) and hot new talent Adrian Syaf! Holy crap holy crap HOLY CRAP *dances and dances and DANCES* I knew it, I knew it, I *knew* it. I *knew* he’d hit the big leagues when I opened up the very first email with a portfolio piece for Take A Chance, what, four years ago now? And now he’s a HUGO NOMINATED ARTIST and has worked on the X-Men now,…
