progress report

It doesn’t seem much like progress when all you do is spend the day reading the manuscript (between helping ferry the cat around), but I think I did accomplish some things. First, I actually pretty much enjoyed the book. Second, I think it’s hanging together. cat update

The dumb cat had in fact wet his cast through by climbing into the bottom of the shower, so now he’s been re-cast (after the vet said, “Aaah, ya dumb cat!” to him) and the bathroom door is closed against anybody without opposable thumbs. Poor Zilli is looking rather wide-eyed and bleary with anesthetics, and I, personally, am quite ready for him to be all healed up. Ok, so earlier this evening I saw this article on BBC about a guy who made a documentary about old people’s lives in Britain. He met about forty old age pensioners, many of whom were pretty miserable living in care facilities or tower apartments, and he got ’em all together and found a record label willing to take a chance and they recorded “My Generation” as a single.
