BOOKS!

I have just gotten a box full of books. Twenty-four shiny copies of THUNDERBIRD FALLS, which, by gum, looks quite lovely and smells like new book and generally makes me beam like an idiot. There’s a lot of that going on today. I’m having a good day. :) Although my, all this good stuff is making the words creep along right slowly, it is, because I keep fiddling around with other stuff and, er, checking my comments to see if anybody’s awake and full of good cheer along with me,…

This is a good morning for art news. First, has been nominated for an Eisner award, for Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition. I doubt there’s anybody who reads my page who doesn’t read Ursula’s, too, but if you don’t, suffice it to say that she is an abnormally cool human being with an extraordinary mind and a talent for art that expresses itself not only with her phenomenal, absurd, wonderfully silly and periodically perfectly serious paintings and sketches, but also in her irresistable turn of phrase both in telling stories…

I do believe…

I do believe I have a book here. I’m not done. I’ve got four or five more chapters (I’m at just over 65K, chapters are averaging 2900 words, that all works out perfectly), but this last chapter went *really* well and I’ve stopped in the midst of another tension-filled scene, so picking up tomorrow should be fun and easy (as far as these things go). Man, I have just got the raging hungries today. This may be a week’s worth of paying attention to what I eat catching up, but jeez o flip, whatever it is, HONGRY! Dinner was an hour ago and I’ve just had a snack and more water, so I’m hoping that’ll hold me for a while. Sheesh. And now I’ve got an apple at hand so I won’t go hunting for other stuff. Not that there’s much other stuff in the way of junk to eat. We’ve got some potato chips,…

Episodes … 6 and 7, or something like that, of La Femme Nikita, were definitely better than the first several. I’m not actually convinced of any of them as actors yet, although it’s possible that in Peta Wilson’s case this is because I’m distracted by her somewhat odd accent and her extraordinary features. I don’t think she’s pretty or beautiful, but she’s certainly interesting to look at. (She reminds me a bit of the Myrys women.) Anyway, it’s possible those things are sufficently misdirect-y that I’m failing to grasp she…
