Ted and I got into Dublin fairly early Friday evening. Got to the hotel and Michael Carroll swept down on us and said, “So far it’s just us, the committee, and Mike Carey, the guest of honor! Octocon Summary
I’m pleased to say Octocon went really, really well, and we had a great time. I’ll probably do a more detailed report later in the week (we’re knackered tonight), but the organization was good, the scheduling was solid, the guests of honor were charming, and I think a good time was had by all. We’ll be going back next year!

Octocon, Redux
The dust-up betwixt Octocon and Pádraig has come to a satisfactory conclusion by both parties’ account: they have released a joint statement burying the hatchet. Which is really awfully good news, I think.

The werewolf short story and the dragon short story are, pending minor revisions, done. I will not be signing on for any more anthologies for the next 12 months, because I have to in some way prevent myself from overworking, and categorically saying no is about the only way I can think to do that. Nor will I–with the exception of a couple pre-arranged exceptions–be reading any books for possible blurbs until at least next May.
