care packages!

Nothing like care packages from America, full of Good Stuff, to brighten up a day! Even if it was a pretty bright day to begin with. :) Thank you, Mary Anne! I think we now have about 7 pounds of chocolate chips, which is hysterical. :) Writing did not go quite as planned today. Young Indiana woke up 25 minutes into his nap and didn’t want to be put back down after I rescued him, so I had a nice rest with the baby and, er, wrote about 200 words…

…I would like to have: – replaced the carpet in the living room – painted the living room – bought a new computer desk – bought a new computer chair – bought a new printer – gotten doors on the shelves in the kitchen You know. Aside from the 37 writing projects on the plate. But I’m taking those bird by bird, god damn it, because anything else freaks me out.

So I was thinking about the Old Races Short Story Project, and about the fact that if they’re ever collected into a book I clearly need to write at least one story to go before the chronologically-first one I have now, because it’s pretty sad. But it’s also fairly early in terms of Old Races history, so I was trying to think of stuff that would come before, and suddenly I had an Epiphany! about the origin of the Old Races. thinks to do by nov 15: – the first Gary short story – approximately 25K on the Ilialiad (hey, I’m only 10.5K behind o.O) – chapter 2 of ElectriCity (ahahahaha) – get the Dublin calendar sorted (that’s here, if you want to buy one real quick before I get the orders in. realistically I’ll get ’em in Friday, so you have til about midnight Thursday) I also need to mail stuff to a few people. I think that went well.

The “No Dominion” campaign was successfully funded about four hours ago. Sorry it’s taken me so long to get this update out. The baby was so excited by Mama’s antics he couldn’t eat. :) I love the way I said that: “successfully funded”, all casual-like.
