Fireplace: 1; Cats: 0

We got a cat toy a couple of weeks ago, and we’ve been keeping it above the hearth, because there’s nowhere else to really keep it. The cats *know* where the toy is, and the grate covering the fireplace keeps being knocked over because they’re trying to get to the toy.

This morning Zilli is a very, very dirty grey cat who has obviously been rolling around in the fireplace. I think we need to find a new place to keep the cat toy. :)

Man. I did not get up early enough today. Springing forward’s supposed to be easier as a time change, isn’t it? Not for me. I’m all screwed up. Bah. So I haven’t gotten any work done and now it’s TEN THIRTY so I feel like the day is wasted (what’s *happening* to me?) and I’m somewhat cranky about that. Bah.

However, I’m off to run an errand or two, which will probably chipper me up some. It’s a beautiful day out.

  1. Nope, fall back is easier, since you get an extra hour to sleep rather than loosing one. IMNSHO. Got myself 3.5 hours this night, what between the usual anxiety about oversleeping and a neighbors wayward alarm. *yaaawn*!

  2. Barry-cat wants to sit on, or preferably in, the new sack of rice. Why is this? I do not want cat-hairs in my rice. The last sack had a zip, but this one’s open to his invasions. Am I going to spend drudge-time transferring ten kilos of rice from one sack to another? (Depends how desperate I get, I guess, to avoid work. Or cat hair…)

Beautiful day here too. I have written myself into a corner, and am inventing errands…

  3. Poor Zilli! Pity you didn’t get to witness her feline ‘I soooo meant to do that!’ attitude after falling in the grate.

Mentioning the tiem shift has set me yawning. It has messed up my body clock and am TIRED!

  4. Actually, he’s long since held a sort of peculiar love affair with fireplaces. We think he’s trying to become a mi-ke, a tri-color cat, but only females are mi-kes, so this is a rather large undertaking on his part. :)

  5. I don’t know *anyone* for whom the clocks going forward is fun! I’m glad I don’t have it as bad as some, because there are people out there who have lowered productivity for weeks afterwards.

(Quite why the politicians ever fell for the barbeque manufacturers’ lobbying, I don’t know. I’d very happily scrap the whole fraud entirely.)

  6. I’d gotten it into my head that this was the easy end. I’m sort of relieved to find I’m wrong. :) But yeah, I’m with you: I don’t know *anybody* who wouldn’t happily scrap the whole thing. *mutter*
