give me a shout out!

Okay, I’ve been meaning to do this since the beginning of the year, and have done it on my livejournal site, but I want to do it here and for the mizkit_feed.

Give me a shout out! Tell me who you are, why you’re reading my blog, how you found me, all that sort of thing, ’cause I know there are people I don’t know out there reading me, and I’m curious. So let me know! :)

  1. Hi! I’m Laura the smartass. I’m reading your blog because I just can’t help myself. I found you by sticking my head into the lounge of the dorm, following the sound of loud, infectious laughter. ;)

  2. *waves* I met you over on FM, then got entranced by the multitude of X-men quotes you have here *grin*.

  3. Well, I think you know me, but I’ve been more or less lurking. LoL. I’m Ann, I met you on FM, and then got to take a picture with you at Writer’s Weekend. :D

And I keep reading because I find you and your life interesting and inspiring :D

  4. :tips his hat. We met back in the 1870s. No, really. I was a gunsmith, you were Miss Fluster Cannon… among other things. :)

  5. Hi Catie!

Yolanda from Australia here. I read your blog because it’s very interesting and I love reading about your up-and-coming novels.

Oh, and I was ecstatic to score a copy of THE CARDINAL RULE from ebay yesterday. Not sure when/if we’re getting it in Oz, so I bought it. YAY! Can’t wait. Heard great things about it.

    :)

  6. Hey there. I found you after I read Urban Shaman – teh love. I read a few posts and discovered you were interesting. LOL The info about the move to Ireland was great. I always wondered what something like that would entail. ::cue jealousy:: hehe

Anyhoo, I’m an English major and am hoping to become a fiction editor. I learn new stuff about the book business all the time reading here. I had no idea royalties at Harlequin were twice a year. LOL All kind of interesting stuff. :)
(Totally off subject – Did you know Harlequin doesn’t have an internship program? INSANE!)

Happy day!! Congrats on the new contract BTW. :)

  7. My name is Maria Brown. I read your blog because I am struggling writer and love to read about your successes.

  8. Oh my goodness. I’m a big fat liar. They JUST started an internship program. It’s only for one line at this time. They just posted it a few days ago. LOL

  9. Hi Catie! It’s beard5 from FM. I’m picking this up through the Miskit feed to my livejournal. (Bizzarre technology that oddly works)

  10. Hiya, Catie! I’m Holly, and I hang around the Luna boards. I started reading your blog when I finished Urban Shaman, and promptly became addicted. :)

  11. Hi Catie! I know you from High School. OH the stories I could tell! Are ya scared yet? Ya should be! Remember that one time, at band camp? Yeaaaaaaaaah baybee!

*grin* Been lurking since we found each other again at Nano. *g*

  12. I saw some posts at FM. I’ve read URBAN SHAMAN. WINTER MOON is next on my reading pile (if only life would slow down!). And I read your blog because you write well, I get to read about things like the gargoyle books coming out, you write about the X-Men, AND you moved from Alaska to Ireland (which strikes me as highly reasonable).

  13. hey, i have actually been reading your blog since i found you on-line about 5 yrs ago! you are my oldest friend in the whole world besides kelly and she has disappeared! :( so i can at least keep up with my now famous bestest high school friend! keep up the great work, which by the way i have not been able to find in this piss-ant town! :( hopefully will get to anchorage some time soon! ttyl!

  14. Well, let’s see. There was Angie, who went to school across the river, who I met through the SCA and ’cause I drove her home after an event or meeting or something, and that brought me to Too and the Bay Area in particular, and then from there to hanging around with you. And then you tried to set me up with Kiria.

And there was that ballooning incident, but we don’t speak of that in polite company.

  15. I swear, they shouldn’t let me near a computer until I’ve had coffee. Bay Area Room, though I did make it to the Bay Area as well. And I can’t even spell my (adopted) name. Hrrr.

  16. After reading and loving URBAN SHAMAN, I tracked you down. Your writing hooked me; the blog just keeps me reeled in. :-) Huge congrats on the recent sales!!!

  17. Hi! I’m Zoe. I read Urban Shaman, loved it, tracked down your website, and found your blog from there :)

  18. I am a random lurker from the Bay Area. I don’t remember how I found your blog, probably just from wandering along various links, but it was fun to read about Alaska (and now Ireland), etc. I am currently having my own Sugar Lent, inspired by yours. :)

  19. Hi, Catie, I’ve been lurking for several months. I got your link from Tambo. I love the writing stuff but I also love the stuff about your move. Having moved overseas and back, I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying. I just didn’t have the benefit of family or knowing the language very well…

  20. So I’m a bit tardy. :) I read your blog because I’m insanely curious about what’s new and interesting in your life, and also because I enjoy brandishing US at my coworkers and saying “Isn’t this cool!” I’m an on-and-off reader because of work, but I try to keep up. (Oh — and my big news of ’05 was getting married in April and now being pregnant with our daughter, due in April ’06, after which I will get wonderful new custom riding boots and get back on the LYFA bandwagon.)

BTW… Ireland! I’m jealous! I got to spend a week there and did not want to come home!

  21. Hi Catie,
I’m the Aussie who told you on the forums about Urban Shaman doing so well over here. I’m a scriptwriter by trade, and am now starting to write books and discover the delights of prose again. I find all the details of how your work gets to print very educational and kinda comforting when I start to wonder why on earth I’m doing this! #B)

  22. Ok…really tardy posting on this one but there was this whole thing about being on an island (Kodiak) and then this volcano thing grounding airplanes and getting back late.

Yeah…sooo…where were we…OH! Deen…cause she dragged me to your house once and I was hooked.
