to be or not to be

To be or not to be morally superior, that is the question. Whether it is nobler to write another 9 pages or so and hit the 1/3rd mark, or to stop now when my wordcount is an exact and therefore amusing-to-me 5K. Nothing wrong with stopping now, and if I do, there’s plenty of time to shower and go into Cork to buy some fresh froot this afternoon. I’m going to try to stay offline mostly this weekend, as it’s the 4th of July weekend in the States and I expect nobody much will be around. I have just hit the 200K mark for fiction words written this year. I have another 195K or so of actual contracted work due this year, not including revisions, and while visions of sugarplums dance in my head about achieving an extra 80K beyond that, this is the first time I’ve ever been dead on track halfway through the year.
