Please point me at songs whose titles are “Queen of *” — Queen of Hearts is obvious, Queen of New Orleans is another (if you’re a Bon Jovi fan). If the queen in the title can somehow be tidily related to a city (preferably but not necessarily a U.S. city), all the better: Queen of Hearts could be pretty clearly tied to Las Vegas, for instance, and in fact JBJ’s QoNO is really *too* obvious, though Queen of Mardi Gras, which is apparently also a song title, isn’t actually much better, which is a shame, because for what I’m thinking of, New Orleans is too good a city to pass up. Queen of Angels might refer to LA, f’rex (and does, in Greg Bear’s book, and not that I know a song titled that, but that’s not the point).
Why, yes, I am flicking, but it’s *advanced* flicking: a handful of satisfactory titles will provide me with the bone structure for The Queen City Trilogy, not that I have any idea when I’ll write them or who I’ll pitch them to.
Yeah, all right, back to work. Another 500 words puts me at quota and later I’ll see if I can whip up a word war or two in order to push past that…

Hmm, if you don’t mind folk songs, we have “Queen of Argyll” by Andy Stewart, “Queen of Connemara” (traditional), “Queen of the Delta,” (not sure) and of course “Queen Among the Heather” (traditional.)
Queen of the Meadow / Elysian Fields
Thou Art the Queen of My Song / Robert Shaw
Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland / Frank Patterson
Queen of the Silver Dollar / Philomena Begley (I believe the lyrics are Shel Silverstein??)
Queen of My Soul / The Average White Band
The original Queen of the Silver Dollar might actually be by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. I’m not sure- it’s also been sung by Dave & Sugar Rowland, Emmylou Harris, Dennis Locorriere, and Sleepy LaBeef. Quite the popular thing!
There is, in fact, a Queen of Angels song:
Queen of Angels / Nels Cline

Queen of the Damned / Richard Gibbs
Queen of Spades / Styx

OK, I give up, this site lists nearly 700 of ’em (no doubt there’s some repeats).

Sorry, nearly 900. Heh.
Queen of Hollywood / The Corrs
Queen of my Heart / New Model Army
Queen of Pain / Alkaline Trio
Queen of Rain / Roxette
Queen of the Highway / The Doors
Queen of You / Monster Magnet
The Witch Queen of New Orleans / Redbone
Queen of Memphis by Confederate Railroad
Queen of Hollywood by The Corrs
I’d suggest “Venice Queen” by Red Hot Chilipeppers. It’s not “Queen of—” but, IMHO, I think the lyrics and tune are unique.
