I went out for tapas with YA author Sarah Rees Brennan last night, which was enormously fun. Hanging out with Sarah usually is. She tells stories exactly the same way she writes in her blog, and it’s very very funny, even when she’s talking about awful things. Or possibly especially when she’s talking about awful things. :) Anyway, we ordered one of everything on the menu (not really, but only because after we’d ordered six items the waiter said, “That’s enough, ladies. That’s a lot of food,” to which we…

“No Dominion” is now 30,005 words long, making it officially the longest novella I’ve ever written. It is possible I have reached the halfway point and don’t yet know it, but I have definitely *not* reached the halfway point of the second section, which is currently 10,000 words long. I am hoping that tomorrow will edge me over a precipice I can recognize as Halfway, and that the final section will be only 10K or so instead of 20, as the first one is and as the second is shaping…
Sorry for the sudden influx of posts. I just realized I’ve managed to pack up 0, count ’em, 0, boxes of anything today, and I have roughly a million things to pack and send, so I’m closing out with a to-do list for tomorrow. Funny that the “Is LJ dead?” post got lots of traffic. :) LJ and mizkit.com (which are pretty much interchangeable) are really still the heart of online communication for me. I use Twitter more than I like, but a great deal of it is announcing word wars and the like. Facebook has two aspects for me, one of which is the personal side, where I do almost nothing but share links and photos from other people. The other side is work, where I try to make an actual effort to…
sloggy progress
Yesterday was utterly useless. Today I decided I needed to focus on either revisions or writing, and given that revisions will pay me sooner, I worked on revisions today. o.O I’m actually about halfway through the WALKING DEAD manuscript now, so it’s going pretty well, although it’s in the last quarter that my editor thinks it really needs work, so. Hopefully I’ll lurch through the third quarter tomorrow and do the last bit over the weekend so I can 1. turn it in and 2. start catching up with NNWM…
