I can’t believe that I have found another person that loves the movie The Cutting Edge. It is one of my all time favorite movies and not one of my friends/family can understand why.
GO Catie!!!!
Mickey
It’s a *completely charming* movie, that’s why.
“Excuse me, gentlemen. Naked male insecurity always leaves me cold.”
AMEN TO THAT!!! I too completely LOVE this movie! Have you seen the “sequal”? I have been afraid too, thinking it will COMPLETELY SUCK!! It is supposed to be about their kids returning to the ice to reclaim the gold medal or something like that. If anyone has seen it and it is actually worth watching let me know. Or I probly just wont bother!

I assume the sequel is unspeakably bad and don’t plan to watch it. :)
It wasn’t quite unspeakably bad…but it wasn’t as good as the first. It was made for the Family Channel and had some good spots in it, but not quite the same chemistry between the main characters as the first (when it premiered they played them back to back), but it could have been worse.
This is one of me and Hubby’s alltime favorite movies. We have the collectors edition DVD and watch it about once a month. :)
There’s a SEQUEL? Good God, WHY??? :p
Presumably because people loved the first one. :)
I’ve only got the regular edition. Is there a reason to have the collector’s edition? I mean, does it have anything nifty on it worth trading up for?
Some of the commentaries are pretty good. I’ve seen it so many times that I don’t remember if there are any inserted scenes. I don’t think so, though. I only got hubby the collector’s edition because it came out on DVD about the time his VHS tape crapped out…
Though both lead actors seemed nice enough, the sequel was unspeakably unspeakably unspeakably bad. Completely wrong about skating (no, really, doing side by side triple axels doesn’t happen), unconvincing about why these two people would spend any time together (not like the original’s cute animosity), and horrible to the “other woman” (who I rather liked). And judging by the sound of their skate blades on the ice, the ice was made of styrofoam.
Watching the original again is a *much* better plan.
