I have pictures on my phone of the full Thanksgiving spread and I kept being like “i should not post on LJ until i have the pictures ready!” and also everybody in the entire universe is sick and so posting is too hard anyway, but if I keep it up like that I’m obviously never going to post anything again ever, so I’m posting without pictures now.
We ended up with a preposterous amount of leftover turkey because there was a non-zero possibility that twice as many people as did show up would show up, but aside from the turkey, everything got eaten and eaten and eaten. I have concluded that we need to have *smaller* parties, though, because there were people in my own house for hours on end to whom I barely had the chance to speak, and that’s just not right. But people seemed to have a good time, and it was fun, and the food was wonderful, and we are all well and truly Thanksgivinged.
Also, on Sunday, Kate, who was staying with us, took mercy on the two head-cold-ridden parents and took our son away to play in thhe park for over an hour. OMG, we were so grateful. :)
I had not, until today, heard of the ancient manuscripts of Timubktu. I tell you what, to hell with LOLcats, MedievalPOC is actually the reason the internet should exist. Tumblr is mostly–for my purposes, anyway–fandom and cosplay and, er, as it turns out, feminism, but MedievalPOC is just an unending fount of fascinating and heretofor totally unknown to me information. As it is I barely even skim it most of the time, but when I have a minute to get drawn in I’m just in love with it. So cool.
I have to remember to watch the Five(ish) Doctors Reboot and this “Take On Me” Doctor Who thing.
I also need to get tickets for the live broadcast of Tom Hiddleston’s Coriolanus in January.
