Man, it’s been a while since I wrote a comic script. I thought it might be a bit of a breezy thing to get me another 10K of writing, but it takes a lot of thinking! Spent a bunch of the day yesterday revising the shape of the issue, and got about five pages written (which is actually pretty good, given how much thinking I have to do). Going to try for ten today. *fingers crossed*
I was going to go out and try to finish Christmas shopping today, but I forgot I’d ordered groceries to come in between 10 and 12, and that Ted is working a weird 11-5 shift today. And I dooooon’t want to go out in the afternoons. Too many people. Must be done between 9 and 11am, before the Irish get out of bed. So tomorrow, I guess.
Speaking of Ted, while I was working yesterday he worked a miracle in the living room, which is now cleaner than it has ever been in the history of the universe. Ted is a hero.
We’re out of many kinds of food. I had three pieces of fudge for breakfast. Oogh.

Am I to understand the morning begins after 11 am in Ireland? Good lord, if only the rest of the world operated that way. All my life spent fighting to maintain a 9-5 schedule, when instead, I could have just moved to Ireland!
This fight against my nature is exhausting. Which should be made apparent by the fact that I am posting this at 2:45 am knowing I have to get up soon. LOL
Am I to understand the morning begins after 11 am in Ireland?
Oh how I wish!
Ok, so *sometimes* it seems like that, especially down in rural parts where lives. :)
Dude, even in Dublin the streets do not fill up with shoppers and people Out For The Day until 11am! Maybe at this time of year they’re out earlier, but mostly not! Yes, people have to go to work before then, but it’s *bizarre* how empty it is until 11am, and then suddenly people come out of the woodwork!
:) Tis true, tis true. Even on my day off to shop I didn’t leave the house until 11. I was entranced by “Escape to the Country.” :)
And it makes lots of sense, why go out during rush-hour when you could be safe and warm at home until later?
Because nobody else is in the shops, and if you dislike shopping as much as I do, *not* having to fend off the crowds is a big plus against the whole general misery of the thing! :)
Ah, then you can use your mutant American time and motion abilities (leaving the house before 11:00 and other such weirdness)… and win!
Yes!! Move to Ireland and you too can get nothing done until some time between 11 and 3. (which of course is while you are at work so you can’t actually do it then either)
No really – to be fair – no sane irish person wants to leave the hosue before 11 so the streets are quiet once the crazy people who want to work have been through.
And it IS possible to get things done outside of 1103 it just feels other sometimes…
I love the nice fudge lady.
Just sayin’.
I am so with you there – I had fudge for dinner last night..
And why is Irishkate a rockstar? I do agree with you there by the way.
I love mornings, hate crowds… yep, need to move to Ireland. If only I could convince the husband.
And Catie: So I’ve been waiting for Heart of Stone to come out and decided a couple days ago, gosh it should be soon, I’d better look it up, and so I did, only to discover it came out LAST month! I’m agog. How did I miss that? So I went and did my usual read the first two chapters (at least) in the store to decide if I want to buy it, and by the time I got to page sixty and the clerks were looking at me, I said what the hey, bought it, went home and read the next forty but then I had to sleep. Love it!!
This is not quite as funny as last night’s Evermore story, but I’m amused nonetheless.
She’s been pimping my books :)
you have to ask?
Well from the moment we met I knew you were a star
