I’m home from retreat and SO VERY TIRED, although I think a lot of that is having spent a lot of time standing outside in the weather on the way home, and also the bed was hard as a rock, which didn’t make for awesome sleeps.
I ended up with about 22K, which is Not Very Damn Much by my retreat standards, but I did finish the second section of the book (it came in at like…42.5k, or something, out of what was supposed to be a 60K book, please insert hollow laughter here), and I did start some notes for what needs to happen in the third act.
It was a really lovely retreat. We were in the Lake District at a big old manor house. The company was excellent. I met a couple of people I’d only previously known online and we got on like a house on fire, and the food, which was all home-cooked because there was nowhere to go to eat, was VERY good…but next time, with any luck, we’re bringing my husband (a qualified chef, as is the woman who organized the food this time) so that HE can do all the cooking and those of us who did cook this time don’t lose a day+ of work time to being in the kitchen. :)
(I do admit, the others were talking about all the board games they were bringing, and my GOD there were a lot of them, 40+???, and I was like “…i…i’m already cooking 3 meals, they can’t…they can’t possibly expect me to socialize, too, can they…??? because i’m supposed to be WRITING…” Fortunately they didn’t mind me writing instead of playing board games and my notorious work ethic helped a couple of other people get stuff done after dinner, especially, when they might not otherwise have managed. :))
I did no drawing at all, so I need to get myself back into that, but I don’t think it’ll be hard to do so. I just need…some more sleep, first…. ::yawns::
