Poor Chantico is sick. I got up this morning to find spots of vomit and poop all over the house, which we diligently cleaned up, and we’ve just gone back for round two. Chanti puked twice, Ted almost puked once. Poor everyone. This is not especially making me want to write…

*blinks* It helps *dogs* with ill tummies? No, we haven’t (don’t have any), but if she’s still poorly tomorrow perhaps I’ll get some and we can try that. How weird.
:::nods::: my vet told me that when our dog was icky with well, poo and tummy problems. whenever we have an ill animal, a spoonful (depending on size) of plain yogurt helps with the intestinal ickies.
also, if the animal (or human) is on antibiotics, that helps take care of the … well, bottom icks :) for lack of graphic description.
Oh, poor darling.
When my dog JoJo had parvo — she survived — we gave her L-glutamine in powder form in either water or jello water. It helps the intestinal tracks and tummy repair themselves. You can find it at most health food stores. It is good for humans, too, of course, but now when one of our animals gets tummy ill we make sure and give them some of that with a turkey baster. It is much easier to get it down them that way, despite them looking pitiful during and after for almost an hour. Luckily it is my husband who must administer the stuff so they still come to me for comfort and look at him all pitiful and sad.
If you can’t find L-glutamine powder, jello water, and jello itself seems to help, too. Just be careful if your baby is sugar sensitive because it will perk ’em up and then lay ’em down about an hour later, but the poo and ick do seem to subside a little.
Hm…seems to be that time of year. Dakota has racked up the vet bills this month with two visits and massive doses of antibiotics and other medicines. The current cause of recent “messiness” is an ulcer (or puncture we aren’t sure)in his colon or digestive tract. So mixed with the unwanted from both ends is a substantial amount of blood. I feel bad for them both…
Does this mean that in whatever 18 books you’re writing at the moment, people – or their pets – will start vomiting?
