Hooray, we have tickets for The Who! Which, as Ted said, is important, because they’re old, and the chance may never come again. Nevermind that I didn’t know who Roger Daltry was. It’s the principle of the thing, and I expect it’ll be fun. :)

Getting tickets has pretty much been my sole accomplishment for the day. We’d been going to have lunch with and , but we mutually bailed due to the inclement weather and my cold. Perhaps next week. :) So for the remainder of the day I’ve been reading books and taking naps, which is really a rather nice way to spend a day except for when you’re snorting your way through boxes of kleenex. And for the evening, I’ve sent Ted to photography class alone because walking around the house makes me tired, so walking through Cork in the rain seems like a foolish idea. I told him to remember well so he could tell me everything they said. :)

I shall slog back downstairs to finish reading my book now. *laugh* Last night I was tired but didn’t want to go to bed because I wanted to read some more of my book. I said so online, and a few minutes later returned to the keyboard and said reads Kit’s book to her. And I got *very* confused for a few moments, because I thought she meant she was reading one of my books to her, and I couldn’t figure out which book she was talking about, and then I went oh! just as she clarified that she was reading the book I was *reading* to me, not that she was reading a book that I had *written* to me. And then she expressed amusement that she had to clarify that. :)

Right. Off to read, then.

Oh. If I get another idiot trolling anonymously in my comments I’m turning the anonymous option off. I know there are half a dozen of you, at least, whom that will inconvenience, and I apologize, but for God’s sake.

Going to read now. Really.

  1. The Who? Didn’t they cover that old Elton John pinball song?

Anonymity is for wimps! Okay, and people living in countries with totalitarian regimes. But mostly for wimps!! Send them packing! If they don’t have the balls to risk being pointed out for the brainless dweebs they are, they don’t deserve free speech!! On the other hand, sometimes it’s fun to point at them and laugh….

  2. LOL I have a hard time remebering Roger Daltry as anyone other than Fitzcairn on Highlander. He did a nice psycho on CSI this season tho.

  3. I suggest activating the screening option — that’s what I’ve done on my LJ. Haven’t had any trolls yet, but if they turn up at least I’ll be the only one to see their comments. Which probably defeats their purpose in being trollish in the first place.

  4. Yeah, Fitz was where I first ‘met’ Daltry. I was very surprised to hear he was the lead singer for The Who. :)

  5. Yeah, but it still exposes me to trollishness, which I see no reason to do. I mean, yeah, I hate to inconvenience the people who don’t have LJs, but they’re not hard to make up and they’re free and they don’t send spam mail, so.

  6. Remember, disabling anonymous comments means that people (i.e., me) won’t accidentally post junk then follow it immediate with and “Oops! That was me!” post.

  7. There is going to be a huge upswing in Kleenex profits in Cork this week. Everyone I know is going through boxes of the things. Atchooo!

You might recognise Roger Daltry when you go to the concert. He had a ‘career’ as a ‘serious actor’ for a while which meant that he turned up in all sorts of tV shows back in the 80s and 90s. the only one I can remember right off the bat is ‘Highlander’ but I know there were others.
