christmas shopping

Apparently half of Cork had the same idea I did this morning and got up and went shopping between 9 and 11. I cannot imagine the horror that must be starting to swell the streets now. God, I hate shopping. Next year I’m making kitsnaps calendars and giving them to everybody. *squinchy face*

Ted works early tomorrow, so I think I’m going to get up when he does and go up on an early train to Dublin to deliver Christmas presents and marshmallow creme to the fambly, and come back in the afternoon/evening. Which probably means I need to finish the Chance script today so I can at least in theory revise the TPC proposal on the train trip, although I’m sure I’ll do nothing more than stare out the window in the morning, and I might not do more than that on the way home. Maybe I should just bring a book instead.

Man. I want a vacation.

  1. LOL You KNOW this is because of the comment thread about how empty the streets are. Fate has a sense of humor.

I hear you on the vacay bit.

And can I say, “SQUEE!!!” I’m 300 pages into HoS and goodness but I adore it. (My husband had to be Out Doing Things yesterday evening, so I told him: When I come home from work, I will eat a bowl of brussell sprouts for dinner and then I will read until you come home [at 10pm]. He didn’t believe me, foolish mortal.)

  2. Kitsnaps calenders are a nice idea – for the last couple of years (counts on fingers – 7! wow) I did a family calender with photos of the kids. But they wont sit for photos now, so no calender this year.

  3. I’d offer you a lift to Dublin but a – the car is teeny b – the train is more comfy and c – looking at the pile of stuff to bring I might be better off asking you to tote a santa sack or two up on the train for us ;) Have a good Xmas and see you when we get back.
