I rouse from my slumber!
Ted and I are in search of O’Reilly-type books (or its lesser cousins) for the MCSE 2000/2003 and the CCNA. I am wondering if anybody out there in blogland has copies they would be willing to lend or sell for cheap.
The weekend was spent visiting with my parents and working on revisions for HANDS OF FLAME, which I’m now down to the last hundred pages or so on. I have figured out how to answer one mystery that had been left unresolved by the story not going quite the way I expected it to, which will please my editor. Hopefully it will please her enough to overlook the fact that the other one’s not going to be resolved. :)
Assuming I get this done today, or even tomorrow, the goal for the remainder of the week is to hit the halfway point on TPC, a goal which I had intended on reaching a full three weeks ago. *glares at fingers* (They’re doing better. There’s still some swelling and too much typing makes them ache, but the bruising is gone and they’re mostly useable again.)
Had two revelations this weekend. One was that despite whatever I think I’ll do, the reality is that, as I said here a week or so again, when I am working full-time on a book, I don’t do anything else. I should accept this, and focus on getting to the gym or for long walks first thing in the morning, the earlier the better, because it makes me feel better and is good for me and if I do it right away it’s not much of an excuse or interference in actual working.
Second, along more or less the same lines, I was working on a drawing this weekend and realized that while I quite like my natural drawing style, it’s never been the clean smooth look I so love in comics (and in Nagel, yes, I’m a child of the 80s, go away and leave me alone, and Alphonse Mucha, and etc) and that quite frankly, unless I spend a *great* deal more time doing art, it’s probably never going to *be* that look. So I might as well just do what I do and like it and not wish it was something else.
Arright, a hundred pages left and I want to finish it tonight, so back on my head. *scoots off*
