All right. I have written. Not all that much, just a couple thousand words, but it finishes this chapter and it finishes what I hesitate to call the setup, because I tend to think of “setup” as being the first third of the book, and if 76K is only the first third of the book I’m going to kill myself. (If for no other reason than avoiding having my editor kill me.)

oh, god, yeah. I mean, it’s how these books are paced, and it’s okay, really, but I do tend to think of books as “1st third setup, 2nd third development, final third DISASTER!” That’s not really how they tend to work, but it’s my mental template, and so spending a full half the (projected) length of the book on setup is a little O.O to me.
