I just went and looked at the TBR list I posted in May. On May 9th, in fact. I had 35 books on that list. I took 3 off because I decided I wasn’t likely to read them, and I’m down to 13 now, though I also bought at least…seven books while traveling to and from San Diego, because I only brought 4 with me on the plane and I read them all before I left Newark (I read 6 books that day) so I needed more. I’ve read almost 30 books in the last two months. Woot! I guess if I finish reading what’s on my TBR shelf I’m going to have to go back to writing, ’cause, well. I’ll be out of reading material. :)
Reading’s amazing! It’s like writing, except somebody else tells the story! How cool is that, huh?
On another topic, after much farting around, I came up with a design for cemurphy.net that I like. I’m going to try to get that put up over the weekend. We’ll see. There’s a relatively minor amount of design and CSS work, and then a fair bit of tedious cleaning-up-work which badly needs doing. Still, if I get something slick in place I’ll be much happier than I am with its current state, and I have a deadline to get it done by, except it’s a moving deadline, so the sooner the better.
We went to see Hellboy II today. Sadly, I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. I thought the pacing was terrible, and that it could’ve served with fifteen or twenty minutes cut out. Also, to my surprise, I actually missed David Hyde Pierce as Abe Sapien’s voice, though I liked Doug Jones just fine in the animated feature. And I kept half-expecting to see Maddie Gaiman somewhere in a background, leaning against a tree and reading a book. But she never appeared. Very sad. :)
