final thinks of 2010

December, I said on the first of this month, was going to be a month of great accomplishments! Finish the AAs! Finish the collection! Finish WAYFINDER revisions! Finish the novella! Finish the coat! Throw a party! Lose weight! Make fudge! Nevermind that those last two things are incompatible! I WILL TRIUMPH!

Unexpectedly, I actually accomplished all those things except finishing the coat, which I’m still trying to figure out how to manage. The problem is that Young Indiana’s nap time is the obvious, and in fact only, time to work on the coat, except I have to, you know. Work. While he’s sleeping. I may have to default to Mom making the coat (or babysitting :)). Anyway, so go me. Lots done this month after all.

So here we are, heading into the final two days of 2010 (which, may I just say: buh), and there are a handful of things I’d like to get sorted before the new year, so I shall make the Final Thinks To Do List of 2010.

– sign & mail contracts
– get portfolio together, which encompasses:
» finding the portfolio pieces
» checking editor names
» writing cover letters
» addressing envelopes
» sending ’em off
– go do a bit of shopping, which encompasses:
» checking the €2 stores to see if they have any candy canes left (a bust, sadly)
» check Mothercare & Next Kids to see if they’ve got any not-pink tights & bibs that snap (also a bust)
» get some pickles and Tucs & baby yogurt and several other things it turns out :)
» some other things I can’t remember right now we shall assume this was accomplished via the above ;)
– other miscellaneous stuff, like take a #)(*&$( shower if the #)&$(#@ water comes back on
– and do the dishes
– and laundry
– possibly dash out to the post office to get the package I missed while out shopping, but who are we kidding, that’ll happen tomorrow

In other news, had like the best idea EVAR: flash mob Shakespeare. I so totally want to do flash mob Shakespeare now. O.O

Also, a follower on Twitter sent me this picture a couple days ago, using the phrase “dominated the shelf” (work safe, really). *That*, my friends, is what five years of busting my ass looks like, and is very much the point of having done so. WIKTORY!
