December, I said on the first of this month, was going to be a month of great accomplishments! Finish the AAs! Finish the collection! Finish WAYFINDER revisions! Finish the novella! Finish the coat! Throw a party! Lose weight! Make fudge! Nevermind that those last two things are incompatible! I WILL TRIUMPH! Unexpectedly, I actually accomplished all those things except finishing the coat, which I’m still trying to figure out how to manage. Year of Miracles

Holy carp, the novella is done three days ahead of schedule! Weighing in at just under 28K, it will be delivered on New Year’s Eve… …which maybe gives me time to find somebody to do cover art. I should’ve thought of that months ago. Hrmph.

a post-christmas update

Just surfacing real quick here… Lovely Christmas here, with all the whiteness and beauty. I know it’s a terrible inconvenience (and indeed, my lack of getting out of the house because it’s too hard with the buggy proves it’s inconvenient to me, too) but I’ve loved the wintery weather. I miss it, though six weeks is enough. :) We gathered at Mom & Dad’s on the day, exchanged gifts, and ate huge amounts of food. The (possible) 2011 Old Races Project

Okay, so I just hit 20K on “Year of Miracles” and am feeling pretty confident of delivering it on New Year’s Eve. Yay! What this means to me in terms of traditional publication is that I’m shortly going to have another anchor piece for a collection. Being me, though, I don’t want to propose a collection to any potential editor until I’ve got it at least fifty percent done.
