Househunting is very stressful. We saw a place this evening that’s really excellently gorgeous, well located (like a 5 minute walk from Ted’s work), and the landlord would be very happy to rent to a nice couple who want somewhere to live for several years. He lives right next door. I have this peculiar discomfort with living right next door to the landlord. Like I’d want to keep my curtains drawn all the time or something, so he can’t peek in. He didn’t seem to object to the cats, though…

I just got it confirmed that URBAN SHAMAN and THUNDERBIRD FALLS have both gone back to print. Yay! I think this is US’s 3rd print run, now, but as far as I can tell, nobody’s actually *seen* a 2nd edition copy. So! If you can provide proof of owning a 2nd edition copy of URBAN SHAMAN, I will send you a copy of HEART OF STONE (first edition, signed!) when I get my author copies in September-ish. “Provide proof” means…well, a scan or photo of the copyright page would be…

dance stuff
This morning, gmail provided me with a link to this very cool article about how the body learns a dance. Ted and I sent Mom and Dad to the Paco Peña performance in Dublin. Mom said it was fantastic and also the most pointless €5 she’d ever spent on a program, so, being unable to name the dancers, was forced to refer to the men as “Red Shoes” and “Cute Butt”. CB was Ángel Muñoz (who really did have a cute butt) and Red Shoes was, well, the other guy.…
progress report
It doesn’t seem much like progress when all you do is spend the day reading the manuscript (between helping ferry the cat around), but I think I did accomplish some things. First, I actually pretty much enjoyed the book. Second, I think it’s hanging together. There’s a caveat to the second, which is very often at this stage when I re-read the manuscript as far as I’ve gotten, I think, “Hey, this isn’t bad,” and then spend ten days trying to figure out why I can’t get any further, and…
