I started HOUSE OF CARDS today. Honestly, I really did not think I would get anywhere near quota. I figured I might hit 3K and I’d be satisfied with that. That would finish the chapter I had a couple hundred words on, and I thought that would be a nice get-back-in-the-saddle start. Reading on screen is not easy. I got about halfway through the HoS manuscript, which is as much as I can handle tonight. It is extremely weird to read it. It’s like reading something someone else wrote, that I’ve read many, many times. Do other writers on my flist find that happening? There’s a section in the middle that does seem like something I wrote, but I cannot for the life of me tell if the voice changes in there or if it’s just that that several-chapter stretch changed less…
