I’m having a terrible time deciding what to do with my hair. There’s no crisis for once, it’s just I keep dying it brown which is fine except it’s…well, brown. Not very interesting. I keep having this vague idea it’ll be a slightly more interesting brown if I dye it, but no. Anyway, so my mom helped me by picking out a…caramel, I think they call it, dye, which will perhaps introduce the slightest bit of interest without making it fire engine red, which is really not what I want. I’ve been growing it for quite some time now and have this idea of keeping it more or less natural instead of totally thrashing it with chemicals.
Except for the problem where my hair is so. damned. straight. And I don’t think having long very straight hair does anything in particular for me, so I keep poking at the idea of getting a body wave, which in theory adds volume without actually giving you *curls*, but I have a terrible fear of ending up with an 80s perm, or something. Last time I got a perm was over a decade ago and I swore never again, so *wibbles*. But some volume would be awfully nice.
And then there’s the on-going mental debate about the Rogue streak, which unless I stop needing food to survive, I will not be at the “okay, you can bleach the streak back in” goal weight before NYCC, but perhaps that shouldn’t really matter, since I love wearing it, and it might be killer fun to do the pinup girl thing and rock the Rogue streak too. Compulsive hair disorder strikes again.

– maaaaaaaaaaybe some more Old Races stories (30Kish)
In other news, I have submitted the NO DOMINION proposal to the Kickstarter people, and am now sitting here staring nervously at the computer waiting for them to come back and tell me if I get to do it. O.O
Oh! Also (I’ll post this in more detail as the con comes closer, but) I’ll be doing a signing/hanging out at the Luna/Harlequin booth at New York Comic Con from 11-12 on Saturday, October 15th. So by the time the con rolls around there should be as many as four free-for-all times you can catch me: two kaffeeklatschs, one Friday morning & one Sunday morning, and two signings, one Friday evening and one Saturday morning.
Those will be hands-down the *best* times to catch me if we don’t have a meal or something else scheduled, and even possibly if we /do/ have such things scheduled, because as I’ve mentioned about sixty-seven times already, work takes priority and if I happen to end up in a chat with an editor or something twenty minutes before a scheduled meal…at best I’m going to be late. :)
A suggestion about the hair–try taking a shower before bed and French braiding your hair. When you get up in the morning it’ll be nice and wavy. It’s the oldest trick in the book, but it’s one that I always resort to when I get bored with my current style (also having straight brown hair. Though mine is now dark red from a box).
