PHOENIX revisions are all but finished. I need to rewrite the epilogue so my editor doesn’t kill me for how the story ends, and I still need to fix the bit earlier in the book which may or may not cause shockwaves, but it’s essentially done. It’s certainly as done as it’s going to get today. I’ll finish up tomorrow, do a spell check, and turn it in.
I also not only walked to the store, but walked the dog on a longer walk than we usually go on, and therefore got about 5 miles in today. This pleases me. And Ted, who is a hero of the revolution, broke out the new vacuum cleaner and holy cow do the carpets look splendid. He also worked a miracle on the kitchen. My hero!
He also went into Cork yesterday and returned with a copy of
Hey! I FORGOT!
THE FIREBIRD DECEPTION, by Cate Dermody, should be available as of yesterday, in romance sections everywhere! Go forth! Seek it out! Purchase its darling little self! Endear me to my publisher by making me a best-seller! Heck, endear yourselves to me by making me a best-seller! :)
The following people get copies of WINTER MOON: Rhonnie, for bringing up scarring childhood memories, thank you so very much; Lessa, for a very funny story;
(ETA: Buh! Ardian, my Chance artist, just pinged me about doing the inks himself! Buh! That would rule! Buh!)
miles to Isengard: 103
I actually saw it in one of my Barnes and Nobles yesterday. Firebird, that is.
Whee!
Now is the time on Sprockets (or Amazon as the case may be) where I go in and order it, along with my pre-order of Night Watch. :)
:) Pushy isn’t I?
I couldn’t really resist, I saw Carlos Nunez was going be at it, and I think anyone who likes pipes, or celtic music should see him at least once. :)
(I’ve got me a copy (a bit battered but it works) of WM so if you want to pick someone else?)
I bought mine last Saturday…
Thank you!
(e-mail with address sent.)
I’m waiting for Amazon to send me The Firebird Deception. But since it has to travel all the way across the Atlantic, it’ll be slow in coming. Still, better than it not coming at all.
Thought you might like to know that Charlaine Harris (chalaineharris.com) has listed Thunderbird Falls as one of her books of the week in her ‘book and blog’ section and is very complimentary about it. Jo
I have to go to the book store *again*?!!?! Aaaauuuuuuggggghhhh!!!!
It’s hard to be you. :)
Were I not afraid of what I’d get back, I’d send it to you with a note something like, “Since you’re so clever, *you* can think up what to scribble on it this time.”
My current project is to resolve the internal debate between the Voice of Adventure(tm), which is busily advocating doing it just to see what happens, and the Voice of Are You Fucking Nuts?(tm), which suggests that annoying the devastatingly clever and (up-till-now) incredibly nice author is not the best idea I’ve ever had.
The danger of that is it takes me a very long time to send books out, generally speaking. It could be years before you saw my original, witty dedication. :)
So you’re saying that instead of mailing books to you, I need to work on drafting my own dedications and ambushing you with them at appearances?
Just want to make sure I’m clear on the rules here. I would really hate to mess up and discover that among Ted’s husbandly duties is “make painful things happen to stalkers”. Or do you save that pleasure for yourself? :)
