eating is hard. let’s go shopping.

God. I’ve just had lunch and I’m down to 6 points left for the day. Gah. Granted, I had two pieces of soda bread where one probably would’ve done, and butter is just doom, but *man*. Eating at 22 points is really hard, and I am not at all used to doing it anymore.

I have, in fact, been considering giving myself 24 points a day for this first week, just to get back into the habit again. For some reason, 24 is a *lot* easier than 22. I donno. If I recall correctly, the first couple weeks I did this last year I was pretty much voraciously hungry all the time, so maybe I just have to grit my teeth and deal with that.

Plus, there is the doom of Easter this weekend. Doom. DOOM. doom.

  1. I will bet you cash money that 24 would work out fine for you.

    In fairness, any time WW points drop below 24 I actually get a little nervous. Each point is abouth 50 calories, and, well, 1200 is the number I see most often for “Be careful dropping below this – here lies starvation mode”. I know this is mitigated somewhat by flex points and free foods, but I get leery all the same.

  2. Yeah, I hear you on that. Even when I’m on points I rarely hit fewer than 25 a day, and when I was paying attention to what I was eating, Iwas still losing weight, so yeah. They (you know, the proverbial They) say you want to eat 100 calories for every 10 pounds you want to weigh. So if I’m aiming for 150 (my current real goal, nevermind the 154 thing), 1500 calories a day should do the trick. Which is 30 WW points. Even my long-term goal, which is 142, wouldn’t put me down at 1200 calories regularly. So probably 24 would be just fine.

  3. I agree with , but also just wanted to say that if doing 24 POINTS for a little while helps you get back into the habit again, then screw it. Do 24 POINTS. 24 POINTS is still way better than uncontrolled eating and it’s 30-40 POINTS per day.

  4. Yeah. :) I’m at 28 points for the day right now and there’s a small possibility I won’t die of starvation later. 28’s not bad at all, if one’s target is 24. It’s a lot more doomful if the target’s 22. :/

    I think 28 is still better than 40. And if that’s what it takes to get you back on track, then so be it! No beating yourself up over it!
