Everybody ELSE on
» Phoenix Con, Dublin, Ireland, March 10-11 2007
» Pi-Con, West Springfield, MA, Aug. 10-12, 2007 (GoH)
» MeCon, Belfast, Northern Ireland (assuming it doesn’t conflict with Pi-Con)
» Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ Colorado Gold, Sept 7-9 (probably) 2007
» Octocon, Maynooth, Ireland, mid-October 2007
» Orycon, Portland, OR, Nov. 17-19 2007
I’d love to put, y’know, like, ComicCon and WFC in there, but I’m already not entirely sure where the money for the stuff in the States will come from as it is, so. :) Perhaps if we win the EuroMillions. :)
Ok, I’ve been up almost twelve hours now, so I think I better go to bed. o.o :)
*sigh* Nothing in Los Angeles. Guess I better get working on that big lotto win…
Ah-ha. Orycon. I see, says she.
If you can make it to ComicCon, I’ll gladly see you there… madhouse that it is.
http://www.iconsf.org ?
Oh, man!
We’ve already talked about Pi-Con, but you’re doing Orycon too?
Looks like I’m going to have to get my butt in gear and get work lined up so I can make it back to the West Coast next year. :)
Orycon is a /blast/.
Now, Kit, I know over-modesty has never been known to be a failing of yours, but… “MeCon”? How’d you talk them into doing that? :)
*clicks off to actually see what the con is about*
Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ Colorado Gold
Yay! *happy dance* You should build a couple (or few . . . or several . . . ) of extra days in there for us to Kit-nap you and drag you up to the mountains. :)
Honestly – Comic-Con has gotten too big to be fun. I live in San Diego, and have been going off and on for years. This past year I swore never to go again. Too many rude people, and the organizers didn’t do a good job.
I had a much better time at Conjecture.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Pi-con, since you’re GoH and all, and extra-crossed for you making WFC again. Two chances for more Catie would be a good thing indeed!
We should get together when you’re in Denver.
You too, huh? *grin*
Wouldn’t you like to get away from the city for a few days too? Boyfriend just bought a lovely house. I say let the Kit-napping commence!
Errr . . . well . . . at least as soon as she’s in reach.
We’re already a ways away from the city, though we’ve recently been looking at 40+ acre plots up in the foothills…
ARGH! It figures that the ONLY time you’re going to be anywhere near me is in August – when I’ll be in PA. *headdesk*
So not fair. I was looking forward to finally meeting you in person!
We’ve always called Phoenix Con just PCon. So that’d be PCon, Pi-Con and MeCon then.
As for affording to get to cons – we’ve already stashed away a huge amount of money to get to Worldcon this coming year. The airfares alone from Europe to Japan are going to eat large amounts.
Dependent on when my in-laws visit! They’re coming in March, so I have to find out what ten days they’ll be here. I suspect it’ll be during I-CON, as it’ll be during their spring break time.
In fact, the very reason I spelled Phoenix Con out was because of the PCon/Pi-Con thing. :)
I’m working on the stashing money, but our 10th anniversary is next May (ye gods) and we’re planning a blow-out trip to Hawaii, so vacation money goes there first. :)
10th anniversary, eh? Doesn’t time fly?
Ours is in less than 5 weeks. I just received the original of this picture, which I now need to go get framed.
West Springfield, MA is less than 2 hours from where we live. You should contemplate coming to visit us! We have a cozy guest room! And good food! And friendly cats!
How ’bout this, then:
If you get spiffy new quiet place before next Sept, Kit-napping is at your place.
If you do not get spiffy new quiet place before September, Kit-&-assorted-co-napping is in Steamboat.
Deal? *grin*
Sounds fair to me.
(Yow, Steamboat! That’s a good ways away…)
Eh, only about three hours.
But the foothills would definitely be closer, for variety’s sake if nothing else. :)
I wasn’t planning on making I-con this year, but if you have a chance to go I’ll reconsider.
Oh, and speaking of breaks, I’d think Ted would be better off if he didn’t have any of his own… I’m sure traveling with the cast had got to be unpleasant.
