Today I am hiding from the internet, because I want to watch the Oscars tonight without already knowing who won what. Gmail already helpfully let me know who won the best film, but I have managed to not see anything else while checking email, so that’s pretty good. (Oh crap. Ted says the download won’t be done tonight. I’m going to have to stay offline tomorrow, too! Multiple Media Avoidance Days! Agh!)
The result of staying offline today is I got quite a lot of work done. (Go figure. I suppose this means I’ll get a lot done tomorrow, too…) I’ve been revising TRUTHSEEKER, fixing things that were weak or needed more detail, smoothing out transition scenes, that kind of thing. I’m halfway through the manuscript, which isn’t, y’know, *done* yet, but this is helping to solidify it so I can finish it all in one go. Given that I spent 90 minutes today cleaning and rearranging my office, it’s probably a safe bet that I will get revisions done tomorrow when I don’t have that distraction, so perhaps if I work really hard I’ll finish the book over the weekend. I have to get it done by the 6th, because…
…I got the WALKING DEAD AAs to do, too, and they’re due the 9th. I really don’t want to stop working on TRUTHSEEKER to do the AAs, so, well, I have to finish it. And then immediately after that I need to do revisions on “Cairn Dancer”. And then maybe I can take a week off before I start the fifth Walker Papers novel. Except then’ll be P-Con, and there’s no point in working for three days and then going to the con and losing any momentum, so either I take two weeks off or none. Guess which would be wiser. Frak. :p
Well, crap. I guess I’m going to spend the evening watching Doctor Who and reading, since I can’t turn on the TV or the radio.
