how bizarre

make a Kickstarter video (*squinchy face*)
– strangle the P-Con redesign into the shape I actually want it to be in

Lookit that. Everything except the P-Con redesign is done, and that, honestly, is in good enough shape that I could add the last few details and basically be satisfied, so the pressure’s pretty much off. So apparently this is what caught up feels like. How bizarre.

The Kickstarter campaign is ready to launch. Has been for, oh, six hours or so, and I’ve been having a hard time not just pushing the “make it go” button. But no, I must be strong and wait until tomorrow. :)

I haven’t written anything in weeks (sum total for the Book Race was, I think, around 25K, virtually none of which was on an actual book. Lots of short stories, though.). I can’t say I’m feeling an overwhelming sadness at not having written anything, either–the result, I presume, of having finished everything due this year a month ago. :)

Oh! The anthology I mentioned the other day! Fred says not to be coy, so I’m entirely pleased to say I’m going to be participating in the first Evil Hat Productions fiction foray! Set in their DON’T REST YOUR HEAD RPG world–a world which veteran game-creator Robin Laws describes as “a dark contemporary RPG about people who have such bad insomnia that they develop super powers”–the anthology will be titled DON’T READ THIS BOOK, and I think my story in it will be “Don’t Wreck Your Soul”.

I am *totally* looking forward to this. I’ve known the Evil Hat people for, uh, pushing twenty years now (O.O), and have dashed around full of squee as they’ve won award after award as producing the best of independent RPGs. It’s going to be *so* fun to play in their sandbox. And you should see some of the other writers participating. The words “good company” leap to mind.

Actually the words “agh omg can i keep up with these people” leap to mind even more, if you want to know the truth, because god damn, I’m a total lightweight in the creating creepy stories compared to most of ’em…

Anyway, so aside from the terror, yay squee! *does a jig*!

And in the meantime, I guess I need to start a new list.

thinks to do, more or less in order

– REDEEMER revisions to agently satisfaction
– my bit on “Easy Pickings” (5-7Kish)
– propose DRTB anthology idea
– prepare for theoretically incoming CEs on RAVEN CALLS
– “Don’t Wreck Your Soul”
– revise ANGLES to agently commentary
– a Gary short story (3-5K)
– Nanowrimo
– 3 retold fairy tales (12Kish)
– maaaaaaaaaaybe some more Old Races stories (30Kish)

*stares at that*

Yeah, maybe I’ll take the weekend off, first.
