Lovely Christmas here. I cleaned up in the music & movies department, my clever husband having been paying attention when I’ve idly said “I’d like to hear more by them,” when someone whose vocals I like come on the music videos (and it takes me a long time, usually, to decide if I like someone, because I have real issues with one trick ponies and over-packaging of artists, so Ted’s done terrifically well in noting who I was interested in). I also, to my *total* astonishment, got volumes 3 & 4 of the Library Edition Hellboy collections, which frankly I never ever expected to get unless they turned up second-hand somewhere here, because they’re largely too expensive to justify. But we discovered a comic shop in Dundrum that does a straight cover price conversion rather than adding a horrific markup, and Ted got me the Hellboys. I was staggered! Yay husband!
(He also got me an Age of Apocalypse poster. The guy at the comic shop evidently assumed he was buying something for, like, a teenage boy, what with Hellboy and X-Men, and said something that caused Ted to say, “No, they’re both for my wife,” which made the guy go “! Your wife has good taste!” :))
His own self got everything he asked for, which was quite a haul, and included the X-Box he’s been wanting for years. And Young Indiana got puzzles and toys which were pretty interesting to him until he got to the book that made music, and everything else paled in comparison. :) And then we went over to Mom & Dad’s, where we ate truly astounding amounts of food and had good family time and generally had a very lovely day.
And now the Time Of All Gluttony is done, and on that note I believe I shall sleep.
thinks to do:
– laundry
– dishes
– find karaoke music for “Wind Beneath My Wings”
– try to finish Yanni’s story
