Mostly mileage, but I think the idea of voting for new seven wonders of the world is kinda cool. Go forth, look, tell me which ones you’d vote for.
…Chichen Itza, Easter Island, the Great Wall, Machu Picchu, Petra, the Pyramids at Giza, and the Taj Mahal. I’m not strictly sure I should’ve voted for the Taj Mahal, except I think it’s possibly the most beautiful building in the world, and that’s got to count for something. And the Pyramids at Giza really shouldn’t be demoted, so they belong in there, darn it.
I think the modern ones, the Sydney Opera House and the Statue of Liberty and all, should be out of the running. As my mother said, “I mean, if they’d had motorized cranes and stuff, most of the Old Wonders wouldn’t be quite so wonderful.”
