Not dead!

Wrote the House of Cards synopsis yesterday in a smashing under-two-hours, thanks to my Amazing Plot Machine Husband, to whom I said, “This is how far I’ve gotten in the book,” and sketched out to him to the midway point in the book, and then he took all my idea bits and shook them around and gave me back an overall story arc. Then he shook my idea bits around some more and gave me the story arc for the third book, which is tentatively titled Hands of Fire. I have the most amazing husband in the world. :) Clearly, he has a magic head! So today I’ll write the HoF synopsis and do my edits and put it all in the mail. Yay!

In *non*-writing related news (can you imagine??), I went to see About Schmidt last night. This is possibly the first movie I’ve seen Jack Nicholson not playing Jack Nicholson in (I haven’t seen any of his earlier work), and I enjoyed it very much for that reason alone. I also enjoyed it because I thought it was really a very nice story of self-discovery. It’s not a movie in which a great deal *happens*, because it is in fact all about Schmidt, but it was a very good, internal story. I liked it. I don’t know that I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to people, but if you like journeys of self-discovery movies and Jack Nicholson, go see it! :)

There’s actual work to be done today. Going to try to get that all taken care of by noon so there’s time to work on the synopsis and then start editing.

There was something else I was going to say, but it’s escaped me. Oh well!
