I gotta say, this waking up early thing is getting out of hand. o.O OTOH, it’s 10:30 and I’ve gotten 1200 words written (and I’d have had more if I hadn’t spent the better part of an hour playing solitaire. I really should remove that quicklink to it.), so there’s obviously something to be said for the waking up early bit.
Yesterday’s thinks to do list was so successful I feel like I should make another one, but yesterday’s was so successful that I don’t have anything left hanging to do from it!
I’m having one of those brief crises where I think, boy, maybe everybody would rather I was writing a Blog About Writing and all of this stuff about getting up early and cleaning the house isn’t what they want at all* (gosh, can you imagine?), so today people should ask me a question about something, and I will attempt to blog about it over the next few days. Writing, life, comics, book/movie reviews, complusive hair disorder, whatever.
*the truth is, I’m pretty sure I’m too lazy to keep two separate blogs, one For Writing and one For Other Stuff, so if you’re reading my lj you’re pretty much stuck with what you get, but still, once in a while I do have these little crises. :)
I get up at 5AM every day so I can be at school working by 7AM (And I’m a student, not a teacher). (Okay, really I get up that early because my husband has an hour long commute and needs to catch the 650 train but still.) I am glad you are feeling accomplished. It’s awesome; I usually have all my homework done by 930… of course then I go, dang I don’t have class till 1130, NOW what? But, it is still a nice feeling. :) Today I need to be productive on story stuff for your challenge! Turns out it is only two papers, a 7-page one next week and a 10-page one the week after. Good thing I get up so early! hehe
Jess
I wish I could sleep in. Really and truly. But these days, I find myself up and out of bed by no later than 9am on the weekends and typically closer to 8. Going out and partying at night is all fine and good, but there is something addictive about how productive a day can be when you don’t sleep half of it away.
I’m game! Where’s your favorite place to go for a nice walk near where you live and why do you like it?
(This is not entirely idle– we ARE going to come for a visit one day and I like having the fun of anticipating cool stuff).
Ever had a project that you really loved but, for whatever reason, couldn’t make it work? [No, Chance doesn’t count. It’s not making you money (yet), but you’re making it work.] If so, please discuss. If not, well, I honestly can’t say I’m surprised. :)
Rogue streaks.
I like having a picture of writing and non-writing, frankly. I’ve also considered separating my blogs (not that I’m a famous author :D), but I figure if people are interested in me, they are interested in me, and that means all of me, the writing and the whining and the really boring stuff.
Mostly, I’d probably separate pro writing blog so I’d embarrass myself in public a little less ;)
I love getting up early in the morning. Even when the day job doesn’t require it, 6am wake-ups are very common. My only regret right now is that my day job hours currently require me to wake up at 4:30am, and I don’t have time in the morning to get my writing in, which is when I love doing it the most (and I am most productive about it).
I could get up earlier. I used to get up at 3:30am and write for an hour before rushing off to my 5am job, but that’s before I had the S.O.. . and there are some things you can get away with when you run your entire life that you can’t (although there is compromise) when you’re trying to share it with someone else ;)
I don’t have any questions. I just wanted to say I enjoy reading your blog no matter what you post. Which is not common. Maybe it’s just that cleaning the kitchen in Ireland is more exotic? :)
You call 730AM early? *g*
Yes! :)
Isn’t there, though? I like that sense of productivity a lot.
that could be it! you’re welcome to come clean my irish kitchen and see if it’s so! :)
Um…sure!
Since the forums are gone….do you have an updated list of books-to-be-published with the dates??
