Other good things I forgot to mention yesterday:
A swell Gallery developer fixed my art and photo galleries for only a small fee, which makes me very happy. I need to fix the skins, but at least they’re functional again. Yay! :)
And…there was something else, but I’m forgetting it. The weather is not as nice as it was suggested it would be, so no going out to take pictures this morning, which is fine. Going to go work on this book, I am.
Oh, I remember the other thing.
Something Very Strange has happened to my hair.
I have stick-straight hair. Determinedly straight hair. Hair which, when introduced to a curling iron, agreeably bends to the will of the heat, then laughs maniacally and makes the curl all fall out. The amount of hairspray necessary to keep a curl in place would frighten Tammy Faye Baker. Like many people with straight hair, this has been the bane of my existance. I have always wanted curls, or at least waves. For over thirty years, I wished futiley for such things.
Sometime in the last couple of years, my hair has developed waves. When allowed to dry naturally, it is no longer stick straight. It bends. Not a lot, but it bends. At my temple and nape I get pincurls, which never used to happen. I have *no idea* what’s going on with my hair, but ironically, I’m now afraid to cut it for fear I will lose my waves! It’s some kind of PLOT!
Okay. To work now. :)
Hair changes periodically, based on time and hormones I’m told. My stick straight hair is also developing waves, but it’s the gray that’s coming in wavy so it’s a double-edged sword. I have found that hair products designed to enhance curl help, but I put styling products on my hair about twice a year for special occassions!
Sigh. I kow how you feel. The amount of hairspray it took to hold up my curled up-do for my sister’s wedding was unbelievable (as was the congestion after sleeping without washing it all out first). As a teenager, I had several perms, which were curly for a week or two, wavy for a month, then *pfft* gone.
(PS, Hi from a comic geek, wannabe writer, Luna Books subscriber, new fan in the process of reading Urban Shaman and loving it)
I’ve stickstraight hair.
But the only reason why I’ve ever wanted curly hair is because I can’t use those chopstick things to pin my hair up in a bun. LOL!
*nodnods at EJ* I’ve got some white hairs that go, quite unmistakeably: /\/\/\/\ But not all of them do that! And I’m actually sort of waiting impatiently for my hair to go white, because that way I can just dye the rest of it brown and leave myself a Rogue streak without bleaching and destroying the front of my hair. (Possibly I’m weird!)
Welcome, Lianne! :)
Ironically, May, I’d finally come to terms with my straight hair. Maybe that’s why it started waving. :)
