There’s been a futher in the comics world. Two of them, in fact. Futher #1 is that Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Perry White in the new Superman movie. Futher #2 is that in the Ultimates world, they’ve killed off Peter Parker and the new Spider-Man is Miles Morales, a black/Latino kid. Both of these things are apparently unforgiveable to a vocal segment of comics fans because PERRY AND SPIDER-MAN ARE WHITE DUDES. Seriously, people? I mean, really? *Seriously*? Okay, possibly I’m not the go-to girl on this, because…
impossible things
It’s almost impossible that “Womanthology”, the all-women comics anthology Kickstarter project, can reach $100K in the next 61 hours, but if you want to help make it happen… Seriously, this is a project I wish to hell I’d known about before it launched. It means a lot to me to see women working in the comics field–my letterer on Chance was a woman, and I hope very dearly that if we make ElectriCity go that we’ll get a woman colorist*, because it’s important to me to work with other women…
not dead!

Old Races Short Story Project: Story #4
The Old Races Short Story Project patronage window is now closed. I’m doing an Old Races short story project throughout 2011. This project will deliver 6 Old Races short stories to its patrons. This, “Awakening”, is the fourth story, and is the first of the project stories set after the Negotiator Trilogy. There are, consequently, spoilers ahead, so beware! You can find teasers for the other stories here: Falling, a story about Biali in 1890s New York; St. George & the Dragons, a story about Janx; and Salt Water Stains…
