My plans for the afternoon: – make bread – change kitty litter – clean bathtub – start organizing office My actual accomplishments for the afternoon: – napped with baby This keeps happening. For your entertainment, I present Young Indiana and the Discovery of His Toes. Hey. What’re those?
another busy day
A mounted policeman just rode by our front door. I knew Dublin had them. In fact, I’ve seen this horse before–the first time I came upon them unexpectedly as they came out of an alley, I understood viscerally just how effective they must have been in pre-motor-vehicle eras–but I had no idea they patrolled anywhere but the city centre. Possibly they’re out here because there’s a match on and we’re a stone’s throw from Croake Park (if you could throw a stone a kilometer, anyway), but that was really seriously…
a day out!
Today turned out to be a Big Day Out. Young Indiana woke up thoroughly at 6:30, and I had no stamina to do anything but take him for a 3 mile walk. (Seriously, it’s easier than almost anything, because he looooves his carrier, and will either look around happily or sleep.) And then we went shopping, and this afternoon we went to my sister’s dance performance, which was pretty damned cool. And we swung by Chapters, which we can do on a lark now (not that the larks appreciate it),…

There’s a
BBQ & Housewarming Party!
We’re celebrating moving to Dublin with a barbecue housewarming party! It will be on August 1 from 1-6pm, and everyone is invited (that gives you Americans time to get plane tickets, right? :)). It’s BYOB, where that second B could be ‘bottle’ or ‘barbecue’, if there’s something you want besides the hamburgers & hot dogs (& probably potato salad) that we’ll be providing. :) If you’re attending, or think you can, please respond either in comments or email so I can give you the address!
