Only (only) 3700 today. The book’s at around 65K, plus another 1400 I wrote the other day and haven’t worked in yet. Might hit 70K tomorrow. Probably will, actually, since I should be able to work this bit in tomorrow, and think I can manage an additional 3K. Have managed as many words so far this week as I wrote last week in total (a little over 19K), which once upon a time I would’ve considered a reasonably successful week and which I am now agog over. I like that…
blblglaaaaggh.
I think I can write today, but man, my little brain is feeling pretty spongy right now. I have to convince myself to go do my Pilates. I’d been planning to swim today, but I’m more than half afraid that if I do I’ll lose the afternoon’s writing to unconsciousness, despite the word wars. I don’t know. We’ll see. God on a stick, though. I’m just…blblbaaaaggh. *stares around mindlessly* Today is International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Wretch Day, and I’d had a very vague hope of writing something new for it, but…
oh my god. my brain.
5150 words today. Two chapters finished. Oh my god. My brain. It is empty. *goes to lie around and blow spit bubbles* ytd wordcount: 138,400
quick note
I was going to say “quick note, not wordcount-related”, but that’s not true, as I’ve now blown past the halfway mark in the book, so yay me. The 2/3rds mark feels Very Far Away right now, which is sort of depressing. (It’s not *that* far away, about 13.5K, but that feels like a lot just now.) But on the positive side, I’m vacillating between “oh god, I don’t have enough book left for this story” and “oh god, I don’t have enough story left for this book”, which may not…
*thud*
4500 words today. I would dearly love it if I continued at this pace all week, but even if I don’t I’m very pleased with the last couple of days. And I made myself cry with a scene today, so I hope it has the same effect on other people. :) I have done pilates and gone for a short walk today. I think I might go for a longer one after dinner, because it’s beautiful out. ytd wordcount: 133,300 miles to Minas Tirith: 197.5
