Okay, the *disadvantage* of getting ARCs is that I have to wait That Much Longer to find out what happens next, and OMG the end of EMPIRE OF IVORY is EEEEE! Cliffhanger! Ted, who is really an incredibly wonderful husband, got up at 6am and drove to Shannon this morning to collect me. I had no expectation of this at all, and am inexpressably happy that he did so. Just got back from the city, where the only shopping I did was to buy another bag to put all the books my editors gave me in.
