making progress

I’ve finished another chapter in the HOUSE OF CARDS revisions and and I know what to do next. I also broke 200 pages on the revised manuscript and am a couple thousand words shy of 50K. I’m also about 15 pages behind where I was at the same chapter in the original manuscript, but what one might delicately call “a whole fucking shitload” of stuff has happened that did not happen previously, and all the stuff that comes later still has to happen. The world’s most cheerful postman just delivered the author alteration manuscript for HEART OF STONE. This is the “this is the last time you will see this book before you get published copies, so better find all your screw-ups now, and by the way, we need it back on Tuesday” version of the book. Except they actually don’t need it til a week Monday, which is practically loads of time. o.O I’m just all like “aghglth! splght! ack!” You know. Bill-the-Cat-like. I got up at 6:30 this morning and I’m /perky/. How weird is that? I have also just eaten enough food to choke a horse, because OMG SO HUNGRY. Swimming does that to me. However, the *nice* bit is that swimming, in Weight Watchers terms, is like the Brass Ring of +5 To Eat. 40 minutes of swimming is a completely absurd 5 activity points earned, and I can eat a lot of good-for-me food with 5 points, man.
