Mnnghg. Sleepy. Went forth this morning to walk, but it was two particular kinds of unpleasant, so I only did a mile and a smidge. But it cleared up this arternoon, so we walked to the store to buy milk and packing tape, so I did about four miles today despite myself. Seeepy. Michele Hauf‘s just finishing up a challenge she and a friend are doing: rough draft their books in 10 days. Gail Dayton is doing a 20 pages a day for two weeks challenge. I used to like reading big fat books. The bigger and fatter the book the better, because it took me that much longer to read it. I deliberately picked up WISHSONG OF SHANNARA when I was 12 and we were driving up the California coast, because my parents told me, “Find the biggest book you can,” and it was not only big depth-wise, but it was also trade paperback, making it definitely the biggest book I could find in the SF section at the time*. The intarweb tubes have lost their suction today. That’s okay. Instead of dorking around on the computer, I’m alternating between walking, reading, and watching s8 SG:1. This is a pretty good way to spend the day. :) Overall, this season is not as good as the last, er, seven.
